ABOUT THE ALLIANCE
The Savannah Film Alliance (SFA) is a grassroots organization founded in 2015 by entertainment attorney Charles “Bo” Bowen, with the support of local stakeholders like Savannah Technical College, the Savannah Economic Development Authority (SEDA), Savannah Filmmakers, and the Savannah Regional Film Commission. Its mission is to support and promote the growth of the film and television industry throughout the greater Savannah area and Coastal Empire region. Since its inception, the SFA has grown to include over 500 members, spanning filmmakers, crew members, government officials, producers, actors, vendors, and service providers.
The Alliance leverages its extensive membership base and industry reputation to foster a thriving local film community. True to its ethos of education, the SFA provides resources and learning opportunities for industry professionals and newcomers alike. It actively promotes indie films, offering filmmakers a platform to showcase their work and collaborate with others. By creating a community focused on opportunity-sharing, the SFA helps maintain Savannah’s status as a premier destination for film and television production.
In addition to Bo Bowen, Beth Nelson, Chad Darnell, and Anthony Paderewski are the current active board of directors for the Savannah Film Alliance. As an SFA member, feel free to contact them with questions at any time, they are here to help you.
Regular meetings serve as a cornerstone of the SFA’s efforts, enabling members to exchange information, discuss the industry’s state, and build collaborative projects. Additionally, events like the Savannah Film Alliance Honors Gala celebrate and recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the local industry, further strengthening the network of creative professionals.
The SFA’s initiatives embody its commitment to education, independent film advocacy, and community-building, positioning Savannah as a dynamic hub for the entertainment industry.
